Apple's Latest Safari Update is Impressive

Picture 2
Well, the folks at Apple are at it again - improving what I would already argue to be the best web browser out there in the Safari line of browsers. I will admit that while I loved Safari 3 for its speed and ease of use, there were probably a few things missing such as phishing scam filters and a few other minor things here and there. Safari 4 answers the bell with not only with even better protection for users but also a whole list of new features that will make the browsing experience even easier and simply better.

Strictly speaking from a developer's side, the new Safari's developer tools are unmatched allowing you to dissect any web site on the world wide web, change the CSS styles or markup just to see how the site would look with different attributes, as well as providing an even expanded set of user agent capabilities allowing you to see how sites would look as far back as Internet Explorer 5 both on the PC and Mac (now that's incredible).

With over 150 new features (most for the typical consumer), there are too many to mention just how many cool things there are (of course you can check them all out by clicking here). But, one of my favorites (shown in the picture) is the new "Top Sites" wall which allows you an easy to choose from wall of sites that you most visit. It's expandable, too, based on preference. Sure beats the old way of looking through hundreds of bookmarks or typing in the address of every site you may or may not want to visit. Coverlows, added security, and the fact that this is the only browser that passes all standards-based tests make this a must have piece of software for your computer. Oh yeah, did I mention that Safari 4 is free for both Mac and PC users? Download it here and take it for a spin.

A New Site for Playful Pooch

pooch_preview
I am thrilled to be finishing up a brand new web site for Playful Pooch - the premiere dog boarding spot in the Denver area of Colorado. Brenda and Will Miller have created a top notch place to leave your dog while raising customer service to a whole new level. But don't take my word for it, read the reviews for yourself about Playful Pooch. And if you're in the Denver area and are in need of dog boarding and other dog care services, do yourself a favor and call Playful Pooch now. Also, be on the lookout for the brand new site to debut soon. The picture shown is just a taste of what's about to come.

Logic West Studios Back Online

Well, I have finally gotten a chance to put the Logic West Studios site back online. As many of you know, I am typically too busy writing web code or creating web applications for many clients and of course the radio station cluster that I work for in my first job. I decided to try something new with my own site; which was to use a pre-built theme for Mac-based web design software known as RapidWeaver. What is cool about RapidWeaver is that it allows the site owner creative leverage over the site all while using prebuilt themes and page structures (modules) to increase workflow. While it is not necessarily "turn key" in all aspects, it is possible for a non-web designer to do some pretty great things with a little bit of time commitment and dedication.

Obvious, for more specifically crafted content management systems and other unique situations, the old school way of creating a custom site or application will still be the way to go (which by the way, I create custom sites and applications for all needs. :) ). I definitely want to give a shout out to the team who designed this RapidWeaver theme, Sey Doggy! I loved how simple and clean this theme was and thought it would be an excellent way to showcase the work I do, as well as, use it to display other things of interest.
